On Tuesday 26th September Thurso High School hosted the first round of the Scottish Cup. Team from Fortrose Academy, Anderson High in Shetland and Nicholson Institute in Stornoway travelled to Thurso for a day of netball. Thurso got off to great start with a comfortable win against Nicholson Institute, then suffered a close defeat to Fortrose Academy losing by 3. The girls had a final game against a very strong Anderson High team, the battled till the end but unfortunately didn’t have enough left to secure a win. It was a fantastic day with over 40 girls participating in netball, Thurso High girls now wait to find out if they qualify for the bronze or silver plate for their next round of matches in December. A special Thanks to Tesco who donated water and bananas for the match.
On Monday 25th September Nicholson institute travelled to Thurso High School to our S3 netball team in the first round of the Scottish cup. This was Thurso’s first match of the season and the girls took a while to get used to playing together again. However, they worked very hard right to the end and showed great work rate across the court and managed to keep the score line down with great defensive work. The match finished 10-29 with Thurso now to play Wick High School after the October holidays.
